Welcome to another fabulous day and another sneak peek at the new Stampin’ Up! Online Exclusive bundle called Changing Leaves. This brand new bundle is set to launch on July 3rd and includes a set of photopolymer stamps, coordinating dies, and a hybrid embossing folder. Today, we’re taking a closer look at that gorgeous hybrid embossing folder and putting it to work.

We get started with a card base of Pretty Peacock cardstock. A strip of the Pretty Peacock Oxidized Copper designer paper serves as a backdrop for our center focal point. The base of our focal point is a sheet of the Early Espresso woodgrain paper from the Country Woods designer paper pack that has been diecut using the Nested Essentials set and then adhered to the card base using dimensionals. The gorgeous leaves are diecut from a sheet of the Copper Clay Tartan Foil specialty paper using the soon-to-release Changing Leaves hybrid embossing folder, which both cuts and embosses at the same time, and then adhered to the focal panel with dimensionals. The sentiment from the soon-to-release Changing Leaves stamp set is stamped in Versamark on Very Vanilla cardstock and then heat embossed with copper embossing powder. The sentiment is then diecut using the banner die from the soon-to-release Changing Leaves die set. A few copper sequins are scattered across the card front to draw the eye diagonally down the card.

Flower for a Friend

We’re rounding out our week of designs using the Stampin’ Up! Inspiring Snapdragons bundle, which includes coordinating cling stamps and dies. Today, we have a clean and simple design that was inspired by a sketch from my sketchbook.

We get started with a base of Shy Shamrock cardstock. I also cut a quarter-sheet of Shy Shamrock and then embossed using the Cute Crochet embossing folder. The embossed quarter panel is then trimmed down to be 1/4-inch smaller than the standard card front. The panel is adhered to the card front using dimensionals. I next diecut the middle-sized snapdragon from white cardstock using the Inspiring Snapdragons dies. Using Pretty in Pink and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, I colored the decorative layer of the snapdragon. I used a glue pen to apply adhesive to the decorative layer and adhere it to the snapdragon base. The sentiment is diecut from Shy Shamrock glimmer paper and Basic White cardstock using the Friends for Life dies. I used a glue pen to apply adhesive and adhere to the two sentiment layers together.

To assemble the focal section of the card, I began with a glue dot in the center of the card. I cut linen thread and made a decorative faux bow and used the glue dot to hold it in place. Using dimensionals, I next adhered the snapdragon over the linen thread and then the sentiment over the snapdragon blossom. To ensure the sentiment stands above everything else, the dimensional layer is doubled. I finished things off with a scattering of Shy Shamrock shimmer gems.

I really love this card design because it’s super simple to make and replicate quickly, but it looks like a million bucks. If you have other sentiment diecuts in your stash, you could easily substitute a different one for a multitude of occasions.

We’re finishing off our frolic in the fields with a look at some brand NEW product that will be available in the 2024-25 Annual Catalog releasing in May.

The Thoughtful Journey 6×6 paper pack offers a whole array of watercolor images in soft tones. There are floral landscapes and beautiful abstract backgrounds. These papers will lend themselves to any number of occasions with ease.

Today’s card is a very clean and simple design. The base is white cardstock with a single strip of designer paper offset to the right side. I chose the lovely thistle pattern with soft tones of Petunia Pop and Pretty in Pink — two of the NEW In Colors. The sentiment from Simply Zinnia is stamped in Petunia Pop and heat embossed with clear embossing powder on a strip of vellum. A strip of white diagonal trim is tied around the bottom of the sentiment in a simple square knot. I finished things off with a small paper butterfly and shimmer gems in the new 2024-2026 In Colors.

Behold the Star

I’ve been busy in craft fair mode for many weeks now. I’m teaming up with my mom, who also happens to be my upline, and sponsoring a booth in a local fair at the end of the month. And to boot, the church where I work is having a craft fair this weekend, and last week I offered to contribute some items for the church’s booth. So I have been working on new designs for that.

I wanted to use the beautiful O Holy Night suite of products for at least one card. The paper is so thoughtfully designed, which makes it easy to put together beautiful cards with very few elements.

Here, I started with a base of Night of Navy cardstock. I selected the Bethlehem scene from the O Holy Night designer paper pack. I wanted the Star of Bethlehem to be shining brightly over the city and I wanted to capture the ethereal look of that bright and magical heavenly star. Using the Stars at Night stamp set, the largest star is heat embossed in gold atop vellum and then diecut using the accompanying dies. The sentiment is heat embossed directly atop the designer paper as if the words of the angels’ song is hanging over the blessed city. Just a few simple elements with such a stunning impact, don’t you think?

Spirit of the Season

We are finally beginning to get a break from the summer heat here in Texas, and things are beginning to feel a little more fall-like. And that always brings about more holiday spirit. I’m still working to prepare a holiday client order and for an upcoming craft show, which means lots of holiday-inspired designs.

Today’s card is relatively simple to put together but packs a lot of punch in the WOW department. The card base is a simple piece of white cardstock. A piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock provides the pops of red in this design and gives the patterned paper a bit of grounding against the dry embossed white panel. The sequins, ribbon, and heat embossed sentiment bring the pops of gold that really makes this card sparkle. I love this designer paper. It’s a new pack from Stampin’ Up! called Joy of Christmas. Each of the designs in the paper pack has a watercolor look and each one is eye-catching and easy to work with. Making a stunning card with this designer paper is a walk in the park for sure!
