Card Sets

Inked Botanicals Set

I’ve always found working with patterned paper to be a bit challenging, particularly when working to use multiple patterns in one design. So I decided to challenge myself by creating a pack of cards using multiple patterns on each design. As I tell my son when he encounters a challenge, “practice makes progress.” And naturally, practice also allows us to feel more comfortable within a particular challenge.

I received the SU! Inked Botanicals designer series paper as part of one of my most recent supply orders. I was really drawn to the cheery designs included in this paper pack and how they could lend themselves to all types of occasions. I was also a little surprised to discover that using floral patterns does not necessarily equate to a feminine design. My biggest take-away while designing this card pack is that working with several patterns is easier when you focus on combining smaller and larger patterns into one design. This way, the patterns compliment one another rather than competing for attention.

This lovely card pack is now up in the Etsy shoppe and available for purchase.

Card Sets · Fun Folds

Simple Blooms

I tried out some new card folds over the weekend. I like to experiment with retired papers so that, if it happens to not go well, I haven’t sacrificed new product in the process of learning a new technique.

This suite of cards features the Paper Blooms designer paper. I’m especially pleased with the two new foldover designs and will definitely be incorporating these folds on a more regular basis. Both are simple to make and produce stunning designs.

If you’re interested in purchasing any of the designs you see featured here, pop over to my Etsy shop.

For the Love of Art

Today’s design was crafted with a friend in mind. My friend is an artist and shared her talents with my family by painting my son a portrait of our kitties, who both totally think my son hung the moon and even tuck him into bed almost every night.

The Zoo Crew designer paper had the perfect character for the thank-you card my son is going to send. I mounted a sheet of the Delightfully Eclectic paper to the card base, punched the cute hedgehog artiste from the Zoo Crew paper, and mounted it on some glimmer vellum. Some ribbon and flags diecut from glimmer vellum accent the design and really make the focal image pop. I added a few adhesive-backed sequins and Wink of Stella for a little extra punch of sparkle.

Bold Bouquet · Dies · Wink of Stella

Birthday Bouquet

I have lots of new things to share in the days ahead after getting a few new goodies delivered yesterday. Today’s design features the SU! Bold Bouquet stamps and dies.

This sunny design would be perfect for any recipient, even the guys in your life. The plaid design in the Inked Botanicals designer paper bundle provides the perfect neutral backdrop for this gorgeous bouquet, which sits atop glimmer vellum diecut using the Deckled Rectangle set. The sentiment is nestled in the bouquet. For a little extra sparkle, the larger roses have centers accentuated with the Wink of Stella glitter brush. This design has the perfect amount of sparkle in person and is sure to bring a smile to its recipient!

Clean and Simple · Creating Connections

Simple Stamping

I love a good clean and simple (CAS) card design. For me, I typically like to let a beautiful piece of designer paper take center stage when I’m making a CAS card. Just add a simple sentiment and maybe an embellishment or two and you have a lovely card. Right now, SU! has a stunning DSP called Delightfully Eclectic that makes show-stopping designs, like these.

Each card design consists of Night of Navy as the card base. A different pattern of the Delightfully Eclectic designer paper is mounted on each base. The sentiments are stamped in Night of Navy on Basic White cardstock using the Pansy Patch stamp set. And each card is embellished with ribbon.
